Cedar Stash Moths
The ONLY kind of moth you want to see in your stash is one made out of cedar!
These moths are approximately 3.5” by 1.9” and they are the perfect size to slide in between skeins and sweaters to keep them safe by repelling moths and carpet beetles from your stash. Cedar has natural variations that show up throughout the material including high and low tones and small knots. Each cedar moth should have a lifespan of 1-3 years and then you can freshen them up and keep using with a light sand or by soaking them in cedar oil to revive the scent.
How does cedar work?
Cedar has natural oils: cedrol, cedrene and thujopsene that give it a distinctively strong scent and deter insects and even rodents. These oils and aromatics irritate the respiratory of rodents and spiders, beetles, cockroaches, fire ants, pantry moths, clothing moths and other fabric-damaging insects.
How long will these blocks last?
1-3 years. You can freshen your blocks as they start to lose scent with cedar oil or by giving your blocks a light sand.
